Sustainable Community Projects in Cape Coast Ghana

Sustainable Community Projects benefit both the Environment and the Communities where they’re located. They often involve building Sustainable Homes for those living on less than $2 per day, Planting trees, and providing clean water.

The Cape Coast Goes Green Project

The Cape Coast Goes Green Project (CCGG) Project was started by the NGO, Ecoscout Movement Of Ghana (EMOG), with support from the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly(CCMA). It aims to plant trees around the Fosu Lagoon, Assase Pa, and their various Schools. Ecoscout has been working with the local Assembly to plant More trees at schools across the Community to sustain and Beautify. These gardens will help teach students how to grow vegetables and improve their nutrition

Free Seeds and Seedlings Projects

In addition to providing healthy food, the Operation Feed Yourself Project by the Eco-Scout Movement of Ghana named “We Eat what we Grow and Grow What We Eat ” also provides seeds and seedlings to the communities where they pick up Free Organic Seeds and Seedlings at the Community Gardens. This helps families start their vegetable gardens in their backyard and learn more about growing their food to help the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Solar Lighting Project

The Solar lighting project was started by the Global School Garden program (GSG) at the University of Cape Coast. It aims to provide light to students during the night so they can study better.

The Eco-Friendly Bricks House Project

The Eco-friendly bricks house Pilot project was started by the Eco-scout at the Perfect Peace School on Cape Coast. This project aims to build Houses with eco-friendly materials such as mud and clay.

The Waste Management Project

The Waste Management project aims to reduce the amount of trash produced by the students living in the dormitories. Students will learn how to recycle and reuse items instead of throwing them away. They will also learn how to compost food scraps and other Organic Materials.
